Founding Therapist
Lyle Williams, LMFT
I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist ("LMFT") who is certified in Gestalt Psychotherapy, and trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.). To translate this into regular English, I am a therapist who specializes in helping couples and families heal from their emotional conflict. I do this by helping individuals increase self awareness of their attachment needs in the present moment; facilitating effective communication between people; and treating people's unresolved trauma symptoms that often show up and make relationships exceptionally difficult. As a marriage and family therapist, I do not prescribe medication. However, I do recognize that some people benefit from medical interventions when struggling with severe mental health symptoms. In such instances, I am able to make referrals for psychiatric services. |

On a more personal note, I'm a husband, a father, and a believer in God (YHWH), Jesus (Yahshua), and the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh). I became a therapist because I know how good it feels to have therapy when you need it; and I know the destruction that can happen when quality therapy is needed, yet unavailable. My purpose in life is to help people live happier, healthier, and more productive lives. I love what I do, and I hope our lives cross paths.
Best Regards, - Lyle |
Therapy Anywhere!*
I meet with clients by using secure videoconferencing technology, which means you don't have go to an office for therapy; you can attend therapy sessions from the privacy of your home, dorm room, car, office, or hotel room. Videoconferencing makes attending therapy incredibly CONVENIENT! Missing appointments will likely be a non-issue. For those of you with a lot of family members who live in various places, multiple people can participate in a session at once from different locations. This technology is particularly useful for long distance relationship couples, athletes and business professionals who travel often, and college students who have limited access to transportation. The videoconferencing platform that I use works on laptops, desktops, iPhones, iPads and Androids.

The benefits of "Private Pay"
Some people (including those who have insurance) choose to privately pay for therapy sessions out of pocket. Here are some of the reasons why.

- INCREASED PRIVACY. Insurance companies have numerous people examining your files at various stages: people who authorize payment, track your progress, audit psychotherapy practices, input data, print bills, and so on. In choosing to privately pay for therapy, your mental health information stays between you and your therapist (excluding special legal circumstances explained during the intake process).
- AVOID THE STIGMA OF MENTAL HEALTH DIAGNOSIS ON YOUR MEDICAL RECORD. Many insurance companies require therapists to diagnose clients with a diagnosis in order for treatment payments to be authorized. Not surprisingly, this can have important consequences. Once the diagnosis is recorded and sent to an insurance company, the therapist has no further ability to control the dissemination of that information. A mental health diagnosis could become part of your permanent medical record. Some diagnoses carry a stigma, and can be used to justify decisions about life insurance coverage or future employment opportunities that require background investigations. The best way to avoid the stigma of having a mental health diagnosis on your medical record is to not have one by privately paying for therapy.
- EASY PROCESS. Privately paying after each session is a simple process in comparison to using insurance. By privately paying for services out of pocket, you get to avoid the following: waiting for the therapist to verify your benefits, tracking deductible amounts, and switching providers if your health insurance coverage changes. Privately paying for therapy makes the start process easier and faster. 1). You contact Ford Williams Family Therapy and let a therapist know when you would like to get started. 2.) The therapist will schedule your session. 3). You will receive and complete your intake documentation online, and then you are ready to start working with your therapist. Simple!
